About Us

Our company's interesting, unique journey has witnessed many changes over the years, from the way companies recruit their staff to the fast growing media sites. 

Shirley Ruddick, founder, having spent 10 years working for an international recruitment company in the city and a further 5 years managing a smaller, market town agency realised a need to offer people an alternative style; one that didn't see people as just arms and legs, or numbers and so, motivated by courage of conviction she could and would make a difference, Ruddick's opened in April 1999.  The company quickly grew in turnover and reputation, with clients and individuals coming back time and again because they enjoy the experience of working with us.

May 2005 Susan Smith joined the company and became a partner in 2007.  Shirley and Sue, two opposites in character and experience - Jing & Jang - who together form a dynamic team working closely with businesses, job seekers and people needing assistance with CV preparation, interview techniques or employment advice.  As an independant business we beleive building good working relationships is fundamental and key to why Ruddick's has stood the test of time, and why we've grown from strength to strength.

What we do and how we do it isn't magic , or rocket science, our gift is using knowledge and experience, logic, humour and flexibility. Put us to the test and let us prove just how speical we are
